Our Community
Our members are a diverse bunch from all walks of life including teaching, arts, design, accountancy, ICT, health sciences, social sciences, activism and study. Our interests are also very diverse and include gardening, cooking, art, literature, music, tinkering, cycling, sports, horse-riding, travel, ecology, bush walking and lots more.
We are intentionally multi-generational because we know that it takes a village to raise a child...and that every person of any age or life stage needs the support of a community to thrive. What we are aiming for is a little different to the Australian "norm", and might be described as a contemporary version of traditional village life with greater respect for diversity, individual difference, equivalence, and empowerment.
We are not naïve utopians. We are aware that any group of humans coming together is likely to have occasional tensions. Building a community with a vision and purpose is rare and can be deeply fulfilling. To navigate the challenges together, we have put much thought and energy into crafting our form of dynamic governance.
